Full Time Programs

Although our Analyst and Associate Programs are tailored to meet the needs of each business, the aim is exactly the same – to develop future leaders of Barclays Capital. Each division has a program team dedicated to training and developing each campus hire. The programs comprise the following:

  • Initial Training Program (ITP)
  • Continuing Professional Education (CPE)
  • Division-specific program management

We have developed a highly personalized, flexible approach to our programs, one that emphasizes long-term career development. Our goal is to help you advance by providing you with significant responsibility and diverse experiences based on a solid work commitment and high ethical standards.

Each full-time program has a program management team in place to ensure the success of our full-time hires.

Global Markets Program

As an Analyst or Associate within Sales, Trading, Research and QA, you will be hired to a specific 'desk' where you'll demonstrate the strong relationship-building skills, motivation and resilience needed as a critical member of your team. This is a fast-paced environment where the ability to think quickly on your feet is highly valued. Your program will begin with six weeks of classroom training and preparation for your Series 7 and 63 certification exams. During training, you will be exposed to senior leaders of the firm and learn about the unique Barclays Capital culture. You will also receive training in bond math, accounting, and desk-specific products that build on your communication, quantitative and analytical skills, and will ease your transition into your role.

Investment Banking Analyst Program

This two to three-year program starts off with approximately five weeks of classroom training in New York that builds on analyst skills to synthesize qualitative and quantitative information. Training consists of an introduction to the firm and its resources, intensive technical training in the areas of accounting, finance, modeling and valuation, capital markets and team building, and networking events. During training, you'll be placed into industry or product groups within the Investment Banking division. From day one as an Analyst, you’ll assume a high level of responsibility, working as a key member of your teams on complex and demanding projects and transactions.

Investment Banking Associate Program

This three-year program starts off with approximately five weeks of classroom training in New York that builds on Associate skills to synthesize qualitative and quantitative information. Training consists of an introduction to the firm and its resources, including exposure to senior leaders across several businesses, as well as intensive technical training in the areas of accounting, finance, modeling, valuation and capital markets. You will also participate in networking events designed to help facilitate relationship-building with your peers as well as bankers across the division. Following training, you will complete three five-week rotations in industry or product groups within the Investment Banking division. These will provide valuable exposure to teams and bankers to help in your final placement decisions upon completion of rotations. As an Associate, you will assume significant responsibility on your teams, including marketing, structuring and executing many complex and demanding transactions.

Infrastructure Analyst Program

The Infrastructure Program comprises the Analyst programs that exist within the Finance, Operations, Technology, Human Resources, Legal, Compliance and Risk divisions. Your time at the firm will begin with five weeks of initial training attended by all Infrastructure Analysts that provides firm-wide Orientation and instruction on Business & Product Knowledge as well as Professional Development. Overall, the training is designed to introduce you to the firm, expose you to senior leaders, familiarize you with firm resources and key elements of our business platform and build upon your interpersonal and technical abilities. After initial training, you will move into your divisional program which will range in duration from one to two years. Each program comprises rotations and access to continuing education that will provide you with a diversified and challenging experience that is expected to further develop your knowledge of business functions, products, systems and processes in preparation for your final placement.
