Inspiring Excellence Forum

The Forum goes beyond what you’ve heard at campus presentations about our firm, people and culture. The Inspiring Excellence Forum highlights the diversity of expertise in Investment Banking and provides insight about Barclays’ excellence in issues impacting the environment, local community and international markets. Attendees will participate in panels, workshops, speaker series and a variety of informational networking events. If you are considering a 2012 Summer Associate Investment Banking internship, it is an event that should not be missed.

Veterans Networking Event

First year MBAs will have an opportunity to meet and network with military veterans working in Investment Banking and Global Markets at Barclays as well as veterans from business schools across the country. Attendees will hear from a keynote speaker and participate in panels and networking events.

  • The audience will include military veterans working in Investment Banking and Global Markets at Barclays along with veterans from business schools across the country

Investing in Your Brand Series

This programming series aims to give undergraduate and MBA candidates early exposure to the skill sets and concepts that will help them in their development as business professionals. Examples of core topics include Professionalism 101, Transitioning to the Workplace, Switching Careers, Personal Finance, The Art of the Interview, and Making the Decision – Consulting or Financial Services.

Generation Next Sophomore Internship Program

The goal of this 10-week program is to attract and identify talented sophomores who possess a combination of academic and leadership skills, as well as a passion for the industry. Sophomores will gain invaluable industry experience as well as receiving mentorship and leadership/skill development training. Internship opportunities are available in Investment Banking, Global Markets and Human Resources.

Eligibility/Application Requirements
  • Class of 2015 pursuing a baccalaureate degree with a minimum cumulative 3.2 GPA (open to all majors)
Key Dates/Deadlines
  • 10-week internship program in New York beginning June 2013
  • Online application must be completed by Friday, January 11, 2013
  • Applicants will be notified no later than Friday, January 25, 2013
  • Interviews take place by Wednesday, February 13, 2013

STEMS – Success Through Early Exposure Mentoring and Sponsorship

STEMS identifies and supports the development of future campus leaders and encourages the exploration and pursuit of careers in financial services. It is a two-part program that consists of on-campus training and business exposure. Students are encouraged to attend campus events and apply to the business exposure program which is held in our Americas headquarters in New York in March. Students who attend the exposure program in New York will be assigned a mentor based on their business interest.

  • Class of 2016 pursuing a baccalaureate degree with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA (open to all majors)
Key Dates/Deadlines
  • Program will take place in New York Thursday, March 14, 2013 and Friday, March 15, 2013
  • Online application must be completed by Friday, February 8, 2013
  • Unofficial transcripts must be sent to this address by Friday, February 8, 2013

Wall Street Scholars Finance & Operations Boot Camp

This multi-day event is an intensive, hands-on opportunity to gain insight into the function and role of Finance and Operations at Barclays. Attendees will learn why each business is critical for business efficiency and growth, as well as how they can launch a successful career.

Eligibility/Application Requirements
  • Class of 2014 and 2015 pursuing a baccalaureate degree with a minimum cumulative 3.2 GPA (open to all majors)
  • Must demonstrate a desire to explore a career in Finance and/or Operations

  • Event will take place in our New York office Wednesday, November 28, 2012 – Friday, November 30, 2012
  • Online application must be completed by Monday, October 29, 2012
  • Applicants will be notified no later than Friday, November 9, 2012
  • Finalists must confirm attendance by Wednesday, November 14, 2012

Wall Street Scholars Investment Banking & Global Markets Boot Camp

This January multi-day event is an intensive, hands-on opportunity to develop knowledge, tools and skills needed for a successful career in financial services. All students are interviewed on the final day of the program and may be extended an offer to join the Analyst Internship Program.

Eligibility/Application Requirements
  • Class of 2014 and 2015 pursuing a baccalaureate degree with a minimum cumulative 3.2 GPA (open to all majors)
  • Must demonstrate a desire to explore a career in Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, and/or Research
Key Dates/Deadlines
  • Event will take place in our New York office Wednesday, January 2, 2013 – Friday, January 4, 2013
  • Online application must be completed by Monday, October 29, 2012
  • Applicants will be notified no later than Friday, November 30, 2012
  • Finalists must confirm attendance by Friday, December 7, 2012
