We only accept applications made online via this website to ensure a fair and consistent application process.
You can update the personal details section of your application, but you can’t make any other amendments to your application once submitted. To update your personal details, please log into your application where you can edit your details yourself.
Because of the large volume of applications we receive, we do not provide feedback at the testing, CV screen or telephone interview stages of the application process. We will provide detailed feedback to candidates who attend our final assessment events.
Barclays Capital is committed to Equal Opportunity Employment. We will make reasonable adjustments to the selection process where necessary. If you think you have a disability that may impact your performance anywhere in the selection process, please contact us to discuss your personal circumstances.
In exceptional circumstances, we may allow you to defer your start date. Please speak to your recruiter for further details.
We encourage you to apply to one region; however, some roles recruit on a global basis.
If applying for internships, we recommend that you apply to the region to which you would want to be recruited for a full-time role.
All applicants will be considered; however, you should be aware that the granting of work permits is beyond the control of Barclays Capital and subject to local immigration laws.
You must decide between Barclays Capital and Barclays Wealth. You may not apply to both, although you can apply to Barclays in addition to either Barclays Capital or Barclays Wealth.
We run a structured internship programme for university students. Outside this programme, we offer a number of ad hoc insight events varying from one day to one week long in our main office locations – check our global events section for details. We do not offer other ad hoc work experience opportunities.
We'd like you to research the opportunities available so you can make the right decision during the application process. You must make a decision before you start your application as to which business area you feel you will be most suited to.
If you change your mind about the position you’d like to apply to, please call the campus recruitment team. If your application is unsuccessful, you are not able to reapply for another position.
We accept one application per candidate per year. If you have previously applied to us, you can only reapply once the next recruitment season begins. The season begins on 1 August each year in Asia and you must include details of any previous applications when you reapply.
Our deadline dates are indicative only. If a role doesn't appear on the application form, we don't have any positions available in this business area. We recruit on a rolling basis, beginning interviews before the deadline date, and if all vacancies are filled we will close the application form.
The length of the application process will vary depending on when and to which area you have applied. We aim to reply to candidates as soon as possible after the application is submitted but don't have a set turnaround time. Please bear in mind that we receive a very high volume of applications and are not able to respond to applications immediately.
We commence recruiting on 1 August each year. We recruit on a rolling basis, so the earlier you apply, the better. Don’t wait until the deadline.
Most internships are offered to penultimate-year university students; however, there are certain circumstances where we would assess a graduate student as well. We encourage you to contact your regional recruiter for more information.
You need to be in your penultimate year of study to apply for the internship programme.
We don't have any schemes or work experience opportunities for secondary or high school-level applicants.
We expect applicants to our programmes to have demonstrated strong academic performance at school and at college/university, although we don't have specific grade criteria for applicants.
GMAT: Not all schools require a GMAT for entry and therefore, it is not an essential part of the qualifications for entry. However, our experience has shown that successful graduates in the firm are those whose GMAT score was 680 or higher.
You should, however, check that you are applying to the right vacancy for your academic background: Associates need to have an MBA plus a period of significant work experience; Quantitative Associates need to have a PhD or similar; and Analysts at least a Bachelors degree or equivalent.
Although we may visit certain school /universities, this does not mean that if you don't attend one of these institutions your application won't be considered. We recruit candidates from all universities.
As Barclays Capital's business language is English, it is necessary to speak a high level of English no matter which role and region you are applying to. It is not always necessary to speak the local language of the office you are applying to, although for roles in the Sales and Investment Banking Divisions, native fluency in the local languages is required.
